Welcome to the website of the Radiology Directorate at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. We provide an extensive range of radiology services, including a substantial contribution to emergency services, a very highly regarded interventional radiology service and a comprehensive cross sectional imaging service.

The Directorate has state of the art equipment to support clinical practice and has recently acquired a Toshiba 320 slice CT scanner which is only the second deployed in the country, enabling innovations in diagnosis of coronary heart disease for our patient population. This leading edge technology has reinforced the Trust's position as a diagnostic provider at the forefront of technological advances. We also have an 'open' MRI scanner which offers a wide range of benefits for claustrophobic patients, Children and also offers interventional capability.

The Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country. The Trust is a Major Trauma Unit as well as hosting several Regional Specialities, including Thoracic Medicine, Renal Medicine and Oncology.

The Directorate is actively involved in Clinical Research & Development participating in national and local clinical Trials. We also have a proactive clinical Audit programme to facilitate continuous improvements in patient care.
